Cops: Woman robs Babylon Village bank
Police are looking for a woman who robbed a Babylon Village bank Tuesday morning.
The woman entered the People's United Bank branch at 375 Deer Park Ave. at 10:30 a.m. "and handed a teller a note threatening violence and demanding cash," Suffolk County police said in a news release.
The teller complied, and the woman then fled south on foot, police said.
Police described the woman as about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a ponytail, "in her 40s, with light brown or dirty blond hair . . . with crooked teeth. She was wearing a green jacket, white cap and sunglasses."
Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to confidentially call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
