Cops: Woman sexually assaulted in Greenport
Southold Town police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman Wednesday in a parking lot off Main Street in Greenport.
Police said Thursday in a news release the woman, 48, was walking near the Adams Street lot at about 10:45 p.m. when she was approached by a man in his 20s.
"The victim was forced to the end of Bay Avenue where the alleged assault occurred," police said in the release.
Police said the suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and had a cigarette tucked behind his right ear.
