A Coram woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center following a three-car crash that closed County Road 83 in Farmingville for several hours Wednesday morning, police said.

Suffolk County police said Susan Spillman suffered "nonlife-threatening injuries" when her car was struck by a driver who ran a red light at 8:10 a.m.

That driver, identified by police as Fred Snyder, 41, of East Northport, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He also was issued several traffic summonses, police said.

Police said the driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.

Police said Snyder was northbound on County Road 83 when he ran a red light and struck Spillman, whose car was westbound on Granny Road. Her car then hit an eastbound car on Granny Road, according to police.

The Crime Scene Unit was dispatched to the scene.

The road remained closed between Mooney Pond and Horseblock roads until about 11:15 a.m., police said.
