Police: Huntington man dies in motorcycle crash
A Huntington man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle late Thursday, crashing at the intersection of Elm Street and Nassau Road, Suffolk County police said.
Craig Byer, 42, died after his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle skidded through the Huntington intersection at about 9:55 p.m., police said.
The motorcycle hit a curb and Byer was thrown, police said.
He was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to a news release.
Police are investigating, and the motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
