1 person seriously hurt in Shirley crash, police say

One person was seriously injured in a car crash involving at least five people in Shirley on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

The vehicle left the road and ended up in woods off Carlton Drive East in Shirley, said Seventh Squad detectives.

Five people were taken to hospitals but their identities and conditions were unavailable late Tuesday night.

Police were investigating.
