A five-car pileup on the westbound Long Island Expressway in Dix Hills caused massive traffic delays during Wednesday morning's rush-hour, officials said.

Tow trucks and flatbed trucks were called to the scene for cleanup, police and fire officials said. Volunteers from the Dix Hills Fire Department also went the scene, after officials said one person reported suffering chest pains. No one was seriously injured, police said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone had been transported to a hospital for treatment.
