1 person killed in pickup-SUV crash in Flanders, police say

A 20-year-old man, trapped in a Chevrolet TrailBlazer that collided with a pickup truck on Flanders Road in Flanders on Tuesday morning, died at the accident scene despite the efforts of first responders, Southampton Town police said.
Marcelo Viscalla Diaz, 20, of Flanders, was driving the TrailBlazer south; the Ford pickup truck he hit was traveling north. The pickup was driven by Kevin Montano, 18, of East Hampton, who suffered non-serious injuries, police said.
"The investigation is continuing into the cause of the accident. At this time no charges have been filed," Chief of Department Steven Skrynecki said in a statement.
