Motorcyclist killed in crash in Holbrook, police say

A Brookhaven motorcyclist died early Wednesday morning in a Veterans Memorial Highway crash, Suffolk police said.
John F. Greene, 49, was traveling south near the Sunrise Highway overpass in Holbrook when his 1995 Harley Davidson left the roadway and struck a metal barricade around 12:20 a.m., police said.
A physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office pronounced him dead at the scene.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
