The Lindenhurst Fire Department and Suffolk County police responded after a pedestrian was struck on N. Wellwood Avenue near Hartford Street on Saturday. Credit: Paul Mazza

The female pedestrian struck and killed by a car in Lindenhurst on Saturday night has been identified as Theresa Buckley, 67, of Lindenhurst, Suffolk County police said.

The vehicle was traveling south on N. Wellwood Avenue near the intersection of Hartford Street, when Buckley was hit at 6:45 p.m., police said. She died at the scene.

The car stayed at the scene, police said, adding there was not criminality.
