A Selden woman was killed in a single-car crash Friday morning near the entrance to Stony Brook University Hospital, Suffolk police said.

Nancy Neumann was driving a 2006 Saturn north on Nicolls Road when she lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and rolled onto its side, police said in a news release.

Neumann, 60, of Strauss Road, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police received a call at 11:23 a.m. and the caller reported that the car had “overturned,” said a spokeswoman for the department.

Officers were at the scene investigating the crash while northbound Nicolls Road was temporarily closed early in the afternoon.

The Saturn was impounded for a safety check. Detectives ask anyone with information on this crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
