A two-car crash on the Long Island Expressway in Lake Ronkonkoma Monday night resulted in a serious injury and closed two lanes of westbound traffic, Suffolk police said.

One person was taken by helicopter to a hospital, police said.

The crash was reported about 10:20 p.m., police said. The on-ramp between exits 60 and 61 was closed and the right and center lanes of westbound traffic also were closed. They had not reopened as of 12:20 p.m.

No other information was immediately available, police said.
