A 22-year-old woman was critically injured Wednesday after the sport utility vehicle she was driving overturned on Sunrise Highway in Manorville, Suffolk police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. when Blanca Vilma Soyos-Cordon was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero west on Sunrise Highway, west of Exit 59, police said.

Soyos-Cordon lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, police said in a news release.

She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was in critical condition, officials said. There were no other injuries. 

The Montero was impounded for a safety check, police said.
