Crash that injures motorcyclist closes Vets Highway in Islandia

Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia has been shut down in both directions after a crash involving a motorcyclist and a vehicle, Suffolk police said Thursday night.
The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. near Suffolk Avenue, and the motorcyclist was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. Another victim was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, police said.
The roadway was reopened at 11:45 p.m., police said.
No other details were immediately available.
