Coram man dies in LIE crash in Holtsville, say police

A Coram man died after his pickup truck crashed into the concrete median barrier on the Long Island Expressway in Holtsville Wednesday, Suffolk police said.
David Hutchings, 63, of Coram, was driving a 2005 GMC pickup truck eastbound about 1:15 p.m. when police believe he suffered a medical emergency.
Responders found Hutchings unconscious and took him to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Michael Hutchings, 32, of Mastic, said his father owned a sprinkler and irrigation installation business. "My father put 150 percent into everything he did," he said.
Elaine Williams, 62, Hutchings' ex-wife, also of Mastic, added that he was a giving man who was devoted to his family.
"If anybody needed help, he'd be there for them without hesitation at all," Williams said. "He will be missed."
