Police: Woman charged with DWI after crashing into Greenport home
A 47-year-old Greenport woman was arrested late Tuesday, charged with drunken driving, after she crashed her car into a house on Main Road in Greenport, police said.
Southold Town police arrested Dawn Cone at 10:26 p.m., charging her with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
She faces arraignment Wednesday in Southold Town Justice Court, police said.
Police said Cone crashed her vehicle into the home on Main Road and said an investigation then determined she was intoxicated. Cone was arrested after what police described as "a short struggle" with officers -- then was transported to police headquarters for processing.
It was not immediately clear what type of vehicle Cone was driving or if she knew anyone who lived in the home she struck.
