An employee at a Deer Park auto repair shop was shot in the leg Saturday morning during an armed robbery, Suffolk County police said.

Two men wearing ski masks and gloves entered Ultimate Transmission Inc. at 2 Saxwood St. about 5 a.m. and demanded cash, police said. One fired two shots during an ensuing confrontation, hitting the victim in the leg. The robbers fled with cash and jewelry, police said.

The victim was taken to Southside Hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Both suspects were described as 5-foot-10 with thin builds.
