Deer Park man charged with drunken driving
A Deer Park man who failed to signal a lane change and wove in and out of traffic Saturday on the Southern State Parkway in Babylon faces a drunken-driving charge, State Police said.
Troopers stopped a 2003 BMW at about 8 p.m. near Exit 37S, Belmont Avenue, after the driver failed to signal for a lane change and was weaving in westbound traffic, according to a news release.
Driver Julio C. Echeverria, 46, "was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest," the release said.
He also provided a breath-analyzer reading of 0.20 percent.
He is charged with driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations, police said.
Arraignment information for Echeverria was not immediately available.
