A Brentwood woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she helped her teenage daughter fight another girl on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
Police said Dorka Lopez, 41, drove her 15-year-old to Regis Park, on MacArthur Avenue, to fight another girl the same age. Police said the mother watched the girls fight and at one point, grabbed the other girl's head and shoved her to the ground.
Close to 30 teens had gathered to watch the fight, police said.
Lopez, of Merrill Street, was charged with second-degree harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
