As of Monday morning, a part of Creek Road off Route 110 in Halesite, Town of Huntington, is closed "round the clock" for about two weeks to all but local residents, said the state Department of Transportation.

To allow for the installation of a new culvert, "Creek Road will temporarily be a dead end street," with nonlocal traffic detoured to Hill Place, the DOT said in a news release.

"As with most road improvement work, this operation may be canceled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather," the DOT said.
