Expect round-the-clock lane closures on the Patchogue-Holbrook Road bridge over the Long Island Expressway in Brookhaven Town starting Monday, officials said.

A single northbound travel lane will be closed, while northbound and southbound lanes will be shifted, the state Department of Transportation said in a news release.

A southbound travel lane will be closed, as well, as will be a single travel lane on the eastbound and westbound service roads. Those will take place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Officials said the closures are necessary so crews can conduct a $9.6 million rehabilitation project. All work is weather-dependent, the NYSDOT said, meaning work may be canceled or postponed, depending on weather restrictions.

The DOT did not give a timetable for the project.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area, but for more information can call 511 or online at www.511NY.org.
