Drivers expecting to travel westbound on the Long Island Expressway's north service road on Wednesday night should watch for delays in Dix Hills, state Department of Transportation officials said.

Crews will be making pavement repairs before winter begins and need to close lanes between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The closures will include one or both westbound lanes on the service road and the westbound LIE Exit 51 ramp to Deer Park Avenue.

The department is advising motorists to use alternative routes. Drivers will be alerted by messages on electronic message signs and more information is available at 511NY.org and informNY.com, or by calling 511.
