DOT: Expect westbound lane closures late Friday into overnight on LIE in Hauppauge

The westbound Long Island Expressway will be partially shut late Friday into the overnight hours in Hauppauge as crews repair damages, state transportation officials said.

Two of the three westbound lanes near Exit 55 Motor Parkway will be shut 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, officials said. That will allow workers to repair overhead electrical conduits, they said.

The work may be canceled, postponed or prolonged due to inclement weather, the state transportation department said.
