The eastbound and/or westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway will be closed from Exit 68 at the William Floyd Parkway to Exit 69 at Wading River Road on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the state transportation department said Tuesday.

The department said in a news release that the off-peak closures in Brookhaven Town will be needed to perform a routine bridge inspection of the Weeks Avenue bridge over the LIE, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes during this time.
