As workers will be doing pavement repairs, a section of the eastbound Long Island Expressway in the Town of Brookhaven will be closed Sundays through Thursdays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Sunday, the state Department of Transportation said.

The eastbound closures between Sills Road, Exit 66, and William Floyd Parkway, exit 68, are expected to continue for about two-and-a-half months, the DOT said, with attention then to be directed to westbound lanes.

Drivers should expect to be diverted to the LIE service roads, the DOT said.
