DOT: Overnight lane closures expected on Route 347 in Hauppauge
A single lane is expected to be closed overnight Mondays through Fridays in either or both directions of a section of Route 347 in Hauppauge, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The closures are expected, weather permitting, between Mount Pleasant Road and Route 111 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as part of a project to turn the roadway into "a modified boulevard and suburban greenway," with work expected to continue through the end of the fall, DOT officials said.
Though a single lane will remain open in each direction, motorists are advised to plan alternative routes, as delays are likely, especially at the early end of the time range around 9 p.m., the DOT said.
