DOT: Overnight Sunrise Highway closures in Brookhaven Town

To allow for pothole, median barrier and other repairs, Sunrise Highway westbound in the Town of Brookhaven is to be closed Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, with eastbound slated to be closed overnight Thursday, the state Department of Transportation said.

The closures are to be between Route 112/Exit 53 and Nicolls Road/Exit 51, with traffic to be detoured to service roads, the DOT said.

Motorists who do not opt for alternative routes, such Montauk Highway, can expect travel delays.
