Starting Monday, a short section of NY Route 25/Middle Country Road in Middle Island will be closed, at least partly, at midday and during the night for resurfacing, officials said.

The 1.4-mile stretch of road scheduled for two months of work runs between Arnold Drive and Yaphank-Middle Island Road/County Road 21.

Unless the weather is poor, Route 25 lanes “will be shifted or closed” as needed, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and then from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said in a statement Thursday.

Advising drivers to travel other routes, the transportation department warned that just one eastbound and one westbound lane will be kept open during the repaving. And at times, traffic will be limited to one-way.

The closures are part of a $7.8 million state project to repair Long Island’s heavily used roads.
