DOT: Sunrise Highway lane closures for Connetquot Avenue bridge work
Lane closures on Sunrise Highway in Suffolk County begin Monday so work crews can perform preventive maintenance on the Connetquot Avenue bridge, the state Department of Transportation said.
The lane closures are between Connetquot Avenue and the Southern State and Heckscher State parkways bordering Great River and North Great River, according to a news release.
On the eastbound Sunrise Highway south service road, a single travel lane closure will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
On eastbound Sunrise Highway, either one or two travel lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday beginning Tuesday.
On the westbound south service road and westbound Sunrise Highway, one or two travel lanes will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. between Connetquot State Park and Connetquot Avenue Sunday through Thursday.
The lane closures are weather permitting and will be in effect about four weeks.
