Downed electrical wires closed part of Route 112 in Terryville Thursday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The road was closed at Bicycle Path at 7:37 a.m.

Suffolk County police said emergency personnel have been dispatched to the scene - but it was unclear if the wires were knocked down as the result of an accident or if anyone was injured.

The police said the Long Island Power Authority has dispatched emergency crews to the scene, though LIPA could not immediately verify that information. The power authority was reporting no service disruptions as of 9 a.m.
