An 81-year-old man was hospitalized Monday night after Suffolk County police said he suffered a medical event and crashed through a building at a go-kart track in Selden.

The accident shortly after 6 p.m. occurred at the warehouse-style storage area used to house the karts for Selden Batting & Grand Prix on Middle Country Road.

The identity of the driver was not released. Police said he has not been charged.

Police said the driver, behind the wheel of a 2000 GMC truck, suffered an undisclosed medical event, lost control of the vehicle, which careened through the side of the building. The truck ended up in the building, police said.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment.

His condition was unknown.
