A 28-year-old Medford woman is in critical condition after police said her car struck a telephone pole and crashed into a building Tuesday morning on Route 112 in North Patchogue.

Brianne Barnabee of Lacebark Lane was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center following the crash at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

Barnabee was driving a 2008 Hyundai south on Route 112 when her car veered off the road, struck the pole and then crashed into the building, police said.

It was not immediately clear what caused Barnabee to lose control, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
