Detectives are investigating the death of a Mastic man in a one-car accident early Wednesday in East Shoreham, police said.

Peter Gerena, 35, was driving north on William Floyd Parkway, north of Whiskey Road, when his 1994 Infiniti left the road, hitting two trees, Suffolk County police said.

Gerena, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 5:50 a.m. crash, police said.

Police impounded the Infiniti for a safety check. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
