Driver faces DWI charge in Suffolk crash

A driver involved in a three-car crash Thursday night in East Patchogue was arrested on a charge of drunken driving, Suffolk County police said.
Police late Friday afternoon identified the driver as Patrick Mahoney, 23. His hometown was not immediately available.
Police said the accident occurred about 9:45 p.m. on Route 112 near East Woodside Avenue. Two of the vehicles involved carried only drivers, while the third had a driver and a passenger, police said.
All four people suffered injuries, none of them serious, police said.
Police said all were taken to hospitals for treatment. The arrested driver was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.
No other details were immediately available. Police said the accident remains under investigation.
