Driver injured when SUV hits pole

A Commack woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe she was driving hit a utility pole Friday in Dix Hills, Suffolk County police said.

The woman, 49, was driving eastbound on Vanderbilt Parkway at 8 a.m. when the accident occurred just west of Commack Road, police said.
