The driver of a Jeep that went airborne after he lost control and struck a 7-Eleven in Brentwood early Saturday morning died at the scene, Suffolk police said.

Brian McLaughlin, 33, of Bay Shore had been driving the 2016 Jeep Cherokee west on Express Drive North, police said. The crash happened at the 260 Motor Pkwy. store at about 2:25 a.m.

The Jeep was impounded. Safety checks will be performed during the investigation.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
