Driver loses control, hits Patchogue building

A driver who suffered an apparent medical emergency and crashed his car into a Patchogue building was hospitalized in serious condition Wednesday, police said.
Felix Bisogno, 87, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala at about 9:30 a.m. south on Route 112 when the car crossed over the northbound lanes north of Vernon Street and hit the building, Suffolk County police said.
The impact caused minor damage to Cedarhurst Paper and Rocco's Pizza, police said.
Bisogno, who suffered an apparent medical emergency before the crash, was taken by the North Patchogue Fire Department to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, police said. He was in serious condition.
The investigation is continuing, and the car was impounded for a safety check. Detectives urge anyone with information about the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
