Driver sought in hit-run of Quogue worker
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Quogue Village police are looking for the driver of a green minivan that struck and injured a village public works employee on Wednesday.
The hit-and-run accident occurred at about 10 a.m., as the worker was clearing debris from the shoulder of the roadway, off the westbound lane, near VFW Post 5350 at 125 Montauk Hwy., police said.
Lt. Christopher Isola of the Quogue Village Police Department said injuries to the worker were not serious. He was treated at a nearby hospital and released.
The worker was part of a public works crew clearing the shoulder of the roadway when he was hit, Isola said.
The vehicle, possibly a Dodge Caravan or Plymouth Voyager, sustained damage to its passenger-side door and mirror in the incident, Isola said.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
