DWI charge after crash into mailboxes, pole

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car into two mailboxes and a utility pole early Wednesday on King Street in Hampton Bays, police said.

Peter Veselovsky of Hampton Bays was arrested at the scene, then was transported to Southampton Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, Southampton Town police said Thursday.

Police said the accident occurred at 3:26 a.m.

Arraignment details were not immediately available.
