A Southampton man who crashed his car into a guardrail early Wednesday morning in Shinnecock Hills was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Emmanuel W. Medina, 43, was charged after the accident at 2:18 a.m. on Montauk Highway, Southampton Town police said. Police said Medina was alone in the vehicle and said he had minor injuries.

He was treated at Southampton Hospital and arrested after being released.

He was held for arraignment Thursday in Southampton Town Justice Court.
