A Southold man faces a drunken driving charge after backing his car into a fence on South Harbor Road Wednesday, Southold Town police said.

Adrian P. Santos, 34, failed several roadside sobriety tests, police said in a report, and smelled of alcohol after they responded to a call at about 4:44 a.m.

Santos, of 795 S. Harbor Rd., allegedly backed his 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier into a fence several blocks from his residence, police said.

He is charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, police said. His arraignment information was not immediately available.
