A Nesconset man, driving with his 2-year-old son in the car, was arrested on DWI charges Friday, police said, after another motorist called 911 about a car in Huntington traveling on just three tires.

Christopher Weiss, 29, of 11 Freeman Ave., was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to aggravated driving while intoxicated.

A motorist told police about 12:20 p.m. that he was following a black 2002 Ford Focus hatchback that was missing a front tire, police said.

Second Squad officers stopped the Ford when it was southbound on Commack Road near Vanderbilt Parkway in Commack about 12:35 p.m., Suffolk police said.

The car had significant damage, police said, and where a front passenger side tire should be, the car was riding on just the tire rim.

Weiss' son, who was in the backseat of the car, was unharmed, police said, and was turned over to another family member.

Weiss was to be held overnight for arraignment Saturday in First District Court, Central Islip.
