On Thursday, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone signed a bill that strengthens penalties for tobacco retailers caught unlawfully selling nicotine products, including e-cigarettes, to anyone under 21. Merchants now face a fine of up to $1,000 for the first violation, and up to $2,000 for each subsequent violation.
