E. Islip teen killed in go-kart crash
An East Islip teen lost control of a go-kart and was killed Sunday, Suffolk County police said.
Police said Joseph A. Mastrangelo, 18, was driving the go-kart south on Pauchogue Avenue south of Route 27A in East Islip when he struck the rear of a parked 1993 Dodge Intrepid around 4:40 p.m.
Responding officers removed Mastrangelo from underneath the Dodge and he was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
