An East Northport man was killed Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a car while walking on Pulaski Road in East Northport.

Richard Barton, 51, was hit by a 2006 Dodge Caravan being driven east on Pulaski Road by Vinton Simms, also of East Northport. Police said the accident occurred at 5:57 p.m.

Simms, 77, suffered a knee injury and was treated and released from Huntington Hospital. He did not immediately return a phone call Sunday.

Police could not say Sunday morning whether Simms was issued a ticket related to the incident.
