An East Quogue teen has been charged with assaulting another teen with a baseball bat during a fight that stemmed from a high-school football game, officials said Monday.

Wilson Antonio Garcia, 19, was charged with assault and other crimes after Jack Kochersberger, 17, of Bellport, was hit in the head with an aluminum baseball bat during the fight, she said.

The sergeant said Kochersberger was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, was later transferred to Stony Brook Hospital and was released Saturday.

Garcia was arrested at the scene. He was also charged with criminal mischief for hitting the victim's car, causing an estimated $6,500 in damage, the sergeant said.
