Train service between Speonk and Montauk, disrupted after a truck damaged an overpass, was restored early Sunday morning, according to the Long Island Rail Road. Trains will be running on schedule this morning, according to the agency.

LIRR crews had been working to shore up a girder for the Montauk line bridge at Hill Station Road near Hampton Bays after it had been damaged when a truck with a boom hit it Friday afternoon.

No one was injured in the impact.

Riders had been bused between the Montauk and Speonk stations.

Working round the clock, LIRR workers fixed the damaged girder by about 6:45 a.m. Sunday, said LIRR spokesman Mike Lewi.

The first eastbound train, the 7:45 a.m. from Penn Station, left on schedule Sunday, Lewi said.
