An East Hampton woman was arrested Saturday night after she drove while intoxicated with four children in her car, New York State Police said.

Police said Elizabeth A. Forsberg, 40, was driving on North Farragut Road and Flamingo Avenue about 9:35 p.m. when she was stopped by troopers, who said they could detect an alcohol odor from her.

Forsberg failed field-sobriety tests and was taken to the troopers' Riverside location for a court-ordered blood test, police said.

Forsberg had four children aged 5 to 10 in her vehicle at the time, including two of her own children, police said. All of the children were released to a responsible adult, police said.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated; aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, also known as Leandra's Law, a felony; and failing to stop at a stop sign. She was held for arraignment Sunday at the Town of East Hampton Justice Court.
