The Suffolk County police Arson Squad is investigating the cause of a fire Tuesday morning that damaged a commercial building in East Islip.

According a spokesman from Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, the fire broke out at 6:30 a.m. at the Senior Funding Group offices on East Main Street, near Matinecock Avenue.

Police said no one was injured.

A spokesman for the East Islip Fire Department said the blaze was brought under control in about two hours and that its cause was under investigation.

“From what I understand there was heavy damage,” the spokesman added.

The Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services spokesman said mutual aid was called in from Bay Shore, East Brentwood and Brentwood.

East Main Street, closed after the fire broke out, reopened just before noon, Suffolk County police said.
