A wrong-way driver killed in a head-on collision on the Southern State Parkway earlier this week was identified by State Police Thursday as an East Islip man.

Nicholas Weiss, 36, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the parkway in East Islip Tuesday when his 1999 Honda Accord hit a 2009 GMC Denali, State Police said.

Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Denali suffered minor injuries, police said.
