The call to police reported that a woman had been shoplifting at a store in Greenport called Not Just Bows.

When a responding Southold Town police officer stopped Megan Combs, 21, of East Marion, on Front Street at 3:21 p.m. Monday, he said she was not only in possession of "numerous items she did not pay for" -- but also methadone hydrochloride and clonazepam, for which she did not have a prescription.

Combs was arrested and charged with petty larceny and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

She was released on bail, police said. The date of her next court appearance was not immediately available.
